Melissa Meibert

Director of Patient Care Services, Hospice

Melissa brings a wealth of experience and a deeply personal commitment to her role as Director of Patient Care Services. Melissa's journey began as a seasonal firefighter for the Department of Forestry. Realizing her true passion was in caring for people, she pursued nursing through the military nursing program, serving as a nurse in the army for eight years.

Following her military service, Melissa worked in a hospital's medical-surgical unit, caring for patients with various illnesses and those recovering from surgery. As a single mother, she sought a position that offered more flexibility and transitioned into psychiatric nursing. It was during this time that a friend recommended hospice nursing to her, and she has since dedicated 13 years to this field, with nine years as a hospice RN and the remaining years in leadership roles.

Melissa's commitment to hospice care is deeply personal, influenced by her experiences with family members in hospice. Her firsthand understanding of hospice from a family's perspective has shaped her compassionate approach, making her a better hospice nurse. She treasures the wisdom shared by her patients and strives to make their final moments as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.

Melissa's leadership at Amari Home Health and Hospice is characterized by a "Yes" attitude, genuine compassion, and support from the agency's owners. This enables the team to go above and beyond in fulfilling even the most challenging requests. Her dedication, experience, and compassionate approach make her an invaluable asset to the agency and the patients and families they serve.

Outside of her professional role, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, golfing, and traveling. She is passionate about ensuring that hospice care is understood and appreciated for the comfort and support it provides, rather than being feared. Melissa is dedicated to making patients' final wishes come true, whether it's a last trip or a special visit with loved ones.
