Our Care Team
Kristen Kambestad
CM/RN
Born in San Diego, Kristen has dedicated the past eight years of her career to the field of hospice care nursing. Her journey began unexpectedly, but she quickly discovered a deep passion and talent for it. Prior to joining hospice care, she worked as an RN in a memory care unit. Despite her role there, she felt underutilized and underchallenged. It was during this time that she was introduced to world of hospice care.
Patients and their families often describe Kristen as a bright light during difficult times. She has a unique ability to be both a straightforward communicator and a compassionate hand-holder, guiding them through the complex processes of hospice care with empathy and clarity.
For Kristen, being a hospice nurse means bringing light to some of the darkest moments in people's lives. She is committed to easing suffering and believes in making the end-of-life journey as beautiful and dignified as it should be. She emphasizes that hospice care is about choosing quality of life and simplifying things, not giving up. It’s about shifting focus to how one wants to spend their remaining time, whether it be days, weeks, months, or even years.
Outside of her fulfilling work, Kristen enjoys spending quality time with her husband and dog, going to the gym, and relaxing at her favorite place, Folsom Lake. Her dedication to both her patients and personal well-being makes her an invaluable member of the hospice care team.
