Edward Bronder
CFO
Edward Bronder, born in western Pennsylvania, brings decades of experience and leadership to his role as CFO at Amari Home Health and Hospice. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving for ten years, including two tours in Vietnam. During his service, Edward developed expertise in computer systems, which opened the door to a career in medical technology.
In 1976, General Electric hired him to work on the first CAT scanners. His career evolved from there, with Edward spending more than three decades in the healthcare technology field, working for companies like Phillips Medical Systems and Toshiba. He was part of the team that was part of the development of PET scanners and securing Medicare approval for PET scanning, as well as contributing to the establishment of cutting-edge cancer centers, including the Disney Cancer Center at St. Joseph Hospital and the UC Davis Cancer Center.
Edward retired in 2011 but was drawn to hospice care after personal experiences with his wife's mother and close friends. These experiences deepened his appreciation and commitment to hospice, inspiring him to help shape compassionate care at Amari.
Outside of work, Edward enjoys traveling, especially to destinations near water, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He believes strongly in the value of hospice care, emphasizing that it is a well-deserved service for those who have paid into Medicare and Social Security. Edward is passionate about ensuring that families understand their options and the true benefits of hospice, clearing up misconceptions that hospice is about giving up when, in reality, it helps patients achieve the best quality of life possible in their final stages.
